The Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor's primary role in the nursing department is to facilitate the daily activities of the nursing department by ensuring smooth operations and coordination among the staff. The RN Supervisor will need to implement, direct, and provide nursing care services tailored to meet the needs of the residents in their designated unit. The nursing supervisor must ensure that all policies and procedures are up-to-date and comply with relevant federal, state, and local regulations.

• An accountable nursing professional who develops, implements and directs nursing services for the residents residing on the allocated floor.
• Maintains conformity to facility protocols and current state, federal, and local regulations.
• The responsibility of reviewing staff complaints, complaints, and grievances falls on the manager, who is tasked with compiling an appropriate report to be presented to the Director of Nursing when necessary.
• Helps keep up an acceptable level of inventory for medicines, medical materials and equipment on the unit to make certain that all residents are appropriately served, and instantly reports any lacks to the pertinent staff.
• Helps develop written evaluations that cover the nursing needs of every individual residing within the facility.
• Distributes nursing or aide assignments as deemed necessary.
• Demonstrates an interest in staff advancement by encouraging and facilitating participation in outside training programs.

Applicants for the RN Supervisor position typically need to have a combination of educational and practical experience. This includes a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, often supplemented with a relevant certification:

• Completion of a nursing program from an authorized college or university.
• To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of two (2) years of working experience providing direct care in geriatric care facilities, restorative care settings and long-term care facilities as a caregiver
• The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of one year's experience as a nursing supervisor, preferably in a nursing home
• Current CPR Certification.
• Eligible candidates must satisfy all the necessary state requirements for pertinent licensures or certifications and keep their professional licenses without any disciplinary actions taken against them.
