Job Summary

This position supports Chadron State College. Up to $7,500 Sign On Bonus for Qualified Candidates.

As an Athletic Trainer, you will be a certified healthcare professional working alongside physicians to enhance the performance and participation of athletes. Your role will involve providing care that includes the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions related to impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Evaluate systems and processes, suggesting improvements to enhance workflow and efficiency. Collect and organize data for programs related to the school.
  • Supports the budget by tracking and managing supply inventory.
  • Keep an organized filing system to track injuries, progress, referrals, and treatment orders from physicians for all athletes at the school.
  • Offers leadership and support to athletes, providing assistance as needed and following the direction of the supervisor.
  • Takes proactive steps in personal professional growth, ensuring all required education by Monument Health and for licensure/certification is completed on time.
  • Actively advocates for the profession both within Monument Health and in the broader community.
  • Applies sound critical thinking and judgment in delivering care, ensuring all treatments are carried out according to accepted national, departmental, and evidence-based standards.
  • Delivers treatment that meets or surpasses the departmental outcome standards.
  • Implementing training programs at schools and utilizing the ImPact system.
  • Any other tasks as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Bachelors degree in Athletic Training

Certifications - Athletic Trainer (AT) - South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners; for Trainers in Nebraska Athletic Trainer (AT) - Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services; for Trainers in Wyoming Athletic Trainer (AT) – Wyoming Athletic Training Board; Or licensure in other state that services are provided in

Preferred:Experience - 1+ years of Athletic Trainer Experience; 1+ years of Healthcare Experience; 5+ years of Sports Medicine Experience

Certification - Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) - National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)

Physical Requirements:

Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
