General Nurse (RN) Overview:

The General Nurse (RN) is responsible for planning and delivering nursing care to patients and residents who require long-term or rehabilitative support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to guidelines set by the Nurse Practice Act, facility policies, and sound nursing judgment.
• Assess, plan, and evaluate nursing care for patients and residents in need of long-term or rehabilitation services.
• Deliver nursing care to those requiring ongoing support.
• Implement and assess the effectiveness of the patient/resident care plan.
• Supervise and direct the care provided by other nursing staff.
• Contribute to the development and evaluation of care standards.
• Stay informed about documentation requirements.
• Understand the setup, maintenance, and operation of medical equipment (e.g., monitors, infusion devices).
• Ensure confidentiality and uphold patient/resident rights.
• Educate patients, residents, families, and caregivers as necessary.
• Conduct oneself professionally according to unit and facility policies.
• Work rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends as scheduled.

Qualifications:

• Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• At least one year of medical/surgical nursing experience in an acute care or long-term care setting (acute/critical care preferred).
• Must hold a current RN license in the state of practice and have reliable transportation.
